Jim graduated Summa Cum Laude from Youngstown University in Ohio with a B.A. in Nutrition. He is credentialed by the American Dietetic Association as a Registered Dietitian and certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Health Fitness Instructor. Jim is currently the National spokesman for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and has the reputation of being one of the top health professionals in the area. In fact, Jim has been honored with a 2011 President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition Community Fitness Award. He is one of just 38 individuals across the country given this honor for making sports, physical activity, fitness and nutrition-related programs available in their communities. He is absolutely committed to his community, which is reflected in his clients from all walks of life—athletes, actors, models, business owners, elders and teens. Jim and his team have helped hundreds lose thousands!
Most recently, Jim has been named to the Board of Directors of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and is one of the top male spokesmen for the American Dietetic Association. As a spokesman, Jim has been featured in the news all across the country and is rapidly gaining the reputation as one of the top personal trainers/dietitians in America. Jim has been nationally featured on the ABC Family Channel, The 700 Club and “Living the Life,” TLC, Radio Disney, and the Discovery Channel. As an avid fitness writer, Jim is on the nutrition advisory board for Men’s Fitness magazine, the monthly contributor to Oxygen magazine and has been featured in Men’s Health, Shape, Maximum Fitness, Fitness, Men’s Journal, Prevention, Muscle Mag, Better Homes and Gardens, New Body, and Wine Spectator magazines, as well as Newsweek.com, WebMD.com, Forbes.com, USNews.com, CNN.com.
Okay, enough with the professional stuff… So, who is Jim really? Well, Jim IS all of the above; he eats, sleeps and breathes fitness. His calling in life has helped him change the lives of thousands! But he does have a personal life. And he does struggle with the same food issues as anyone else. Jim isn’t perfect; who is? That said, we all strive for it, or try to get as close as we can. Jim is no different, although his main personal motto in life is “Perfection though Imperfection.” He wants to show people how they can build the body of their dreams and still have a good time enjoying life. Jim eats pizza, and indulges in ice cream, lattes and alcohol. But he has learned the art form of moderation and works hard to even things out with ample amounts of exercise. His regime includes exercising six days a week, doing a combination of running, weight training, and yoga. He has run in several marathons and competed in many body-building shows. Outside the gym, he enjoys going out, dining, movies, traveling, adventure and taking on everything life has to offer.
