Janet

I have always been active and fit, but I still struggle with finding the motivation and determination to push myself to achieve the lofty goals I know I am capable of. As a runner for the past 16 years, I have finished many races; some races were personal records (PRs) and some I placed in my age group, but my big dream and goal has been to qualify for the Boston Marathon. I was on track to qualify when I was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer and went through seven months of treatment. While I am obviously thankful for my return to good health, ever since I have found myself discouraged trying to regain the speed and strength I once had. With the help of everyone at JWFNS, I recently finished a half-marathon and a full-marathon in record times for me, and I am now in the best physical condition I have ever been in. I have the best trainers and guidance that I need to meet my Boston goal, and I know it’s now only a matter of time before I get there. And I owe all of that to JWFNS!
