What’s Your Snacking Profile?

I have partnered with the Almond Board of California to help promote almonds. I have been compensated for my time commitment. However, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments.

As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, I see clients daily who have nutrition questions, and  together we develop individualized plans to help them reach their health goals. During our appointments, we do an inventory on their strengths and areas of improvement.

One of the top areas of improvement that I typically flag for people is the need to snack more regularly. Most people know to eat the typical three meals a day of breakfast, lunch and dinner, but they rarely incorporate snacks. Smart snacks should be a staple in your daily life because they help to increase your energy, even out blood sugar levels, rev up your metabolism and keep your hunger at bay. They really help to bridge the gaps between your larger meals and prevent overeating (on both the good and the bad).

It’s important to me that the personalized nutrition plans  I create for my clients are just that — personalized. Each meal plan  is unique to the individual based on their current status, future goals and overall lifestyle.  I think the same goes for the snacks, too.

I’ve partnered with the Almond Board of California to develop a Snack Time Generator. It’s a fun tool that helps to define your snacking personality and gives special tips and snacking equations based on your resulting personality type. This quiz will take you through a series of questions to help determine your profile . These personality types include:
